The Pacific Loon laid her first egg on Friday, May 20, at 10:30 EST.
Jun 06, 2011 - Mom Returns to Nest
Watch as the Pacific Loon returns to her nest. The female, somewhat clumsily, climbs back onto the nest and then settles down to incubate.

The precocial Pacific Loon chick is shown here swimming around the nesting platform with dad on 6/15/2011. Loon chicks are born downy and alert, and they spend no more than 1-2 days in the nest before leaving.
